The event was held at the activity area on the 1st floor and the surgical examination room on the 1st floor of the Kalyaniwattana Building, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">This event was honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Thidarat Boonmas, Vice President for Enterprise and Sustainable Society, Khon Kaen University, who presided over the opening ceremony. The report was given by Prof. Dr. Somsak Tiemkao, Director of Srinakarin Hospital, and the background of the event was presented by Dr. Ruangsap Thueannadee, President of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">This event included educational sessions on \"Understanding Bile Duct Cancer, Screening, and Treatment\" presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atthaphol Titapan, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University; and \"Bile Duct Cancer and Treatment with Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy\" presented by Dr. Thanachai Saenlang, Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University. There was also a sharing of experiences regarding treatment and self-care for bile duct cancer patients by Mr. Smith Suetrong, a former bile duct cancer patient.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\"><div dir=\"auto\">In addition to educational lectures, screening for liver fluke infection was provided using the rapid urine liver fluke detection kit OVATK, and ultrasound screening for high-risk groups was also conducted. Over 325 members of the public and healthcare personnel received these services. Of the 325 urine samples tested, 12 were found to be infected with liver fluke (3.7%), and all received anthelmintic medication. Ultrasound screening for bile duct cancer was performed on 308 people, with 2 suspected cases (CCA) (0.65%), and 5 were referred for other reasons such as kidney stones or liver
