Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute Driving the implementation of the OV-CCA curriculum in schools in the Lao PDR.
October 12, 2023, Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute together with the Faculty of Education Khon Kaen University and the Institute of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Lao PDR (Lao TPHI) organized a “Workshop Using a course to strengthen immunity against liver fluke and bile duct cancer. In the primary school of Champasak Province Lao People's Democratic Republic” under the project Combatting Cholangiocarcinoma in Laos, Year 2, sponsored by the Kadoorie Foundation through Imperial College London, at the Educational Room, Mueang Phupamphon, Champasak Province.
It was honored by Dr. Rasamee Siangsunthorn, head of Lao TPHI, who presided over the opening speech of the training, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Loilom, who spoke about the history of the project, and Mr. Wianglakon Bualaphan, Deputy Head of the Education and Sports Department. Champasak Province discussed the role of the Education and Sports Department in project implementation, Dr. Wiangsi Suphakdee, head of the Public Health Department, Champasak Province, spoke about their participation in project implementation, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sampan Thinwiangthong, head of Curriculum development research project Discussing the overall picture of the project, on this occasion Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Loilom gave a lecture on the importance of liver fluke disease and bile duct cancer to the trainees.
