According to the National Health Security Office (NHSO), the cumulative patient rate over the past 10 years has exceeded 200,000 cases, with the majority of patients in health zones 1, 7, 8, 9, and 10. On average, there are approximately 20,000 patients per year, representing a rate of 38 per 100,000 population.
The cause of bile duct cancer around the world is still unclear. But in the Mekong Basin and Thailand, the main cause is liver fluke infection.
