workshop action plan “Thailand is free from liver fluke disease. Don't die from bile duct cancer" towards concrete guidelines.

On January 22, 2025, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Loylom, Director of the Institute, participated in a workshop on the development of an action plan to drive the operation of “Thailand is free of liver fluke disease, no death from cholangiocarcinoma” at the Pullman King Power Hotel, Bangkok (Rang Nam).
The workshop was organized to open up a space for exchanging ideas and brainstorming from experts, researchers, and stakeholders in all sectors. It focused on planning and creating an action plan for the OV-CCA project that could support the implementation of targeted medical and public health plans to solve the problems of liver fluke disease and bile duct cancer systematically and efficiently. The workshop was supported by NRCT through NRCT, NSTDA, and TCELS. The workshop was honored to have experts, scholars, and researchers from various related networks, including the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, the Cholangiocarcinoma Medical Excellence Center, Srinagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, the Health Service System Development Committee (Service Plan) in the field of cancer, the Cholangiocarcinoma Cancer Warrior Committee, the Disease Control Office Region 7, Khon Kaen Province, and Region 8, Udon Thani Province, the Health Zone Committee for the People, Kkp. Region 7, the National Health Security Office Region 7, Khon Kaen, the Non-Communicable Disease Division, Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, and the local government of Nong Khai Province join the event.
