"The Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute collaborates with 7 pilot provinces to plan the management of OV CCA."

On April 3, 2025, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Loylom, Director of the Institute, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Atthaphol Titapan, Head of the Cholangiocarcinoma Center of Excellence at Srinakarin Hospital, organized a workshop to develop an action plan for the OV CCA pilot provinces. The meeting was honored by the presence of Dr. Hatcha Nueythong, Deputy Provincial Public Health Officer of Maha Sarakham Province; Dr. Surachai Siripornadulsilp, Specialist Physician from Khon Kaen Hospital; experts and those responsible for liver fluke disease and cholangiocarcinoma from the Regional Disease Control and Prevention Office 7 (Khon Kaen), Regional Disease Control and Prevention Office 8 (Udon Thani); the Provincial Public Health Offices of Maha Sarakham, Khon Kaen, Sakon Nakhon, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, and Kalasin; the Sakon Nakhon District Public Health Office; Srinakarin Hospital; and Khon Kaen Hospital. The meeting was held at the Suphannika Meeting Room, Rachawadee Resort and Hotel, Khon Kaen Province.
This meeting was held to exchange knowledge on project implementation models for addressing liver fluke disease and cholangiocarcinoma, and to develop an action plan for pilot OV CCA projects in seven provinces: Maha Sarakham, Khon Kaen, Sakon Nakhon, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Kalasin, and Mueang Sakon Nakhon district, with implementation scheduled for 2025-2026.
