Launching an aggressive screening campaign for bile duct cancer in Yang Talat District, Kalasin Province.

The Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Loylom, Acting Director of the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with Yang Talat Hospital, Yang Talat District Public Health Office, Kalasin Provincial Public Health Office, and the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, organized the “Cholangiocarcinoma Screening Project in Yang Talat District, Kalasin Province” from August 19-22, 2025, at the Yang Talat District Auditorium, Yang Talat District, Kalasin Province.
The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Ekkarat Misa, District Chief of Yang Talat, who presided over the opening ceremony. Dr. Samanmit Attanak, Director of Yang Talat Hospital, presented a report on the organization of the event.
Bile duct cancer screening was held from August 19-22, 2025. 2,200 people, including members of the public and government officials, registered for the screening. On August 19, 2025, 345 people in the high-risk group underwent screening. Twelve individuals (3.45%) were suspected of having bile duct cancer (CCA), while 10 were referred for other reasons, such as kidney stones or gallstones.
