"The Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, in collaboration with the National Health Commission (NHC) and health media partners, is raising awareness and working together to eliminate liver fluke disease and cholangiocarcinoma in Health Regions 7 and 8."
On August 28, 2025, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wacharin Loylom, Director of the Institute, in collaboration with the National Health Commission Office and the National Research Council of Thailand, organized a workshop for the Health Communication Working Group in Regions 7 and 8 to raise awareness about eliminating liver fluke disease and cholangiocarcinoma. The workshop was held at the Khosa Hotel in Khon Kaen Province and was attended by over 40 members of the health communication network.
This workshop was held to raise awareness among health media networks in Health Regions 7 and 8. It facilitated knowledge exchange regarding the situation of liver fluke disease and cholangiocarcinoma, and strengthened relationships among participating health media personnel. The ultimate goal is to utilize the media's role in raising public awareness and protecting people from liver fluke disease and cholangiocarcinoma.
