"The Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, in collaboration with the National Health Commission (NHC) and the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHPF), is brainstorming and developing media strategies to promote a society focused on 'New Generation of Northeasterners Free from Liver Fluke and Cholangiocarcinoma'."
On October 8, 2025, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wacharin Loylom, Director of the Institute, in collaboration with the National Health Commission Office (NHCO) and the Media, Arts and Culture for Health Promotion Program of the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (THPF), organized a workshop on developing communication plans and strategies for social change under the concept of "New Generation of Isan People Free from Liver Fluke and Cholangiocarcinoma." Representatives from various sectors, including government agencies, academics, and creative media networks in the Northeast, participated in the meeting at the Rab Khwan Meeting Room, Bayasita Hotel, Khon Kaen University.
The event began with a welcoming speech and opening remarks by Mr. Suthinan Boonmee, a member of the National Health Commission, who also addressed the issues of liver fluke disease and bile duct cancer. This was followed by Dr. Danai Wangboonchai, Manager of the Media, Arts and Culture for Health Promotion Program at the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHPF), who explained the objectives and guidelines of the conference.
Following that, there will be a panel discussion analyzing the situation and communication strategies for social change, with distinguished speakers participating, including:
1. Dr. Preeda Tae-Arak, National Health Commission Office (NHCO).
2. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wacharin Loylom, Director of the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute.
3. Asst. Prof. Dr. Sampan Thinwiangthong, Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University.
4. Dr. Narongdech Mahasirikul, College of Local Administration, Khon Kaen University.
This was followed by a summary of the process for developing marketing communication plans and strategies for social change, presented by Dr. Danai Wangboonchai and Mr. Manrat Plaeklamyong, experts in Digital Marketing Campaigns.
The afternoon session involved brainstorming and analyzing past media campaigns to develop a communication strategy for the next year.
