The Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, organized a seminar to exchange knowledge and develop innovations for the care of cholangiocarcinoma patients.

On November 20, 2025, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, organized the Seminar 2025, a platform for exchanging knowledge on medical innovations. The presentation was given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anan Khantawanachana and his team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi.
The main topics include:
• Smart Labs and the Application of Smart Materials
• Tracheal Stent and Airway Stent
• AI Liver Ultrasound for detecting abnormalities and assessing the level of fibrosis/steatosis.
• Smartmed innovation
This seminar was honored by the presence of a team of physicians and researchers specializing in bile duct cancer from the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, led by...
Asst. Prof. Dr. Atthaphol Titapan,
Dr. Apiwat Charoenrat,
Dr. Paramet Klanrit, and
Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapong Inthara
Both organizations have exchanged in-depth information on medical innovations and advanced technologies to further develop their applications in patients with cholangiocarcinoma, particularly AI-powered ultrasound and biomedical materials. This is expected to improve diagnostic accuracy and support more effective treatments in the future.
This seminar marks another step in the collaboration between engineering and medicine, aimed at improving the quality of care for bile duct cancer patients in the northeastern region and throughout Thailand.
