On November 27, 2025, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wacharin Loylom, Director of the Institute, and Dr. Paramet Klanrit, Board Member of the Institute, participated in a panel discussion on “Driving Policy Innovation towards the Target Plan: Thailand Free from Liver Fluke Disease and No Deaths from Cholangiocarcinoma” at the Policy Market Fair of the 18th National Health Assembly 2025, under the theme “New Economy, Creating Sustainable Thai Health,” at IMPACT Forum, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province.
The seminar was honored by the participation of distinguished experts and specialists: Dr. Wichai Chokvivat, Chairman of the Committee for Supporting and Monitoring the Implementation of Measures to Stop Liver Fluke and Cholangiocarcinoma Problems under the National Health Commission; Dr. Supakit Sirilak, Director of the Health Systems Research Institute; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rittirong Jangkote, Head of the Environmental Health Group, Department of Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Faculty of Public Health, Khon Kaen University; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sampan Thinwiangthong, Faculty Member in the Department of Educational Studies, Sub-discipline of Mathematics Education, Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, and Head of the project to raise awareness among children and youth through the liver fluke and cholangiocarcinoma immunization curriculum. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Loylom moderated the seminar.
In addition, the institute also participated in an exhibition showcasing "Innovative Liver Fluke Detection Using the OV-ATK Test Kit" and provided liver fluke screening services to attendees throughout the event. This National Health Assembly is scheduled to be held over two days, November 27-28, 2025, at IMPACT Forum, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province.
