From November 27-29, 2025, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with the Lao Institute of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (Lao TPHI), under the Combatting Cholangiocarcinoma in Lao PDR project, conducted proactive screening for cholangiocarcinoma among at-risk populations in Nathai Thong town, Vientiane Capital, Lao People's Democratic Republic.
The activity included a screening for bile duct cancer, with a total of 618 people from the public and various agencies participating. The results revealed 16 individuals suspected of having bile duct cancer (2.59).
