On January 18, 2026, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, in collaboration with the Curriculum and Instruction for Cholangiocarcinoma Prevention Research Group (CIRGCAP) of the Faculty of Education, organized a workshop on “Using Curriculum and Creative Media to Enhance Immunization Against Liver Fluke Disease and Cholangiocarcinoma in Primary School Grades 1-2 and 3-4.” Assoc. The workshop was held at Le Cassia Hotel, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province.
The training was held under the Precision Education research project, a collaborative effort between the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute and the Curriculum and Instruction for Cholangiocarcinoma Prevention Research Group (CIRGCAP) of the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University. This follows the development of additional curricula and learning materials on liver fluke disease and cholangiocarcinoma for primary school grades 1-2 and 3-4, supplementing the existing six levels: early childhood, primary (grades 5-6), lower secondary, upper secondary, vocational, and non-formal/informal education. The project aims to provide comprehensive and appropriate learning for all age groups. Teacher training and implementation have been promoted in pilot schools in Kudrang District, Maha Sarakham Province, with plans for wider expansion. Furthermore, the Institute provided liver fluke testing using the OV-ATK kit to all participants in the training.
