"The Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute continues its efforts in Roi Et province, conducting training on registering high-risk groups using LINE LIFF to enhance the capabilities of personnel in proactive screening, in collaboration with the Regional Health Office 7 (Khon Kaen), the Roi Et Provincial Health Office, and the Roi Et Provincial Administrative Organization."

On May 1-2, 2025, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Loylom, Director of the Institute, in collaboration with the Disease Control and Prevention Office Region 7, Khon Kaen Province, the Roi Et Provincial Public Health Office, and the Roi Et Provincial Administrative Organization, organized a workshop on the use of tools, database management, and data utilization to address liver fluke disease and cholangiocarcinoma. Mr. Chusak Ratchaburi, Deputy Governor of Roi Et Province, presided over the opening ceremony, and Dr. Suradech Chawadej, Provincial Public Health Officer of Roi Et, gave a report. Distinguished guests included Mr. Kittisak Phanompong, Deputy Provincial Public Health Officer of Roi Et; Mr. Phanupong Panlinfa, Director of the Public Health Division, Roi Et Provincial Administrative Organization; and Mrs. Busaba Buaphan, Head of the Communicable Disease Control Group, Roi Et Provincial Public Health Office. The workshop was held at the Pradab Fah Room, Phetcharat Garden Hotel, Roi Et Province.
This meeting was held to disseminate information on the use of tools for registration, data recording, and tracking of at-risk groups for liver fluke disease and cholangiocarcinoma using the LINE LIFF Application and the Isan cohort system. It also clarified the at-risk group registration plan for those responsible from the Roi Et Provincial Public Health Office, Roi Et Provincial Administrative Organization, community hospitals, district public health offices, sub-district health promotion hospitals, and representatives of village health volunteers (VHVs), covering all 20 districts of Roi Et province. Over 750 people participated in the training.
In addition, the institute also provided liver fluke screening services using the rapid OV ATK kit to conference attendees. Of the 108 people who used the OVATK kit to self-screen for liver fluke infection, 30 were found to be infected, representing 27.77%, and received treatment.
