On June 19, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wacharin Loylom, Director of the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, discussed the implementation of key research targets under the Science, Research and Innovation Strategy: "Thailand Free from Liver Fluke Disease, No Deaths from Cholangiocarcinoma." The discussions were attended by Mr. Saichol Pimkhao, Acting Director of the National Health Security Office, Region 9, Nakhon Ratchasima, and representatives from the Public Health Center 9, Nakhon Ratchasima, the Disease Control and Prevention Office 9, Nakhon Ratchasima, the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Public Health Office, and the Regional Health Committee for the People, Region 9. The discussions were held both online and in-site at the NHSO Region 9 meeting room in Nakhon Ratchasima.
The meeting participants agreed to implement an integrated and comprehensive approach to prevention and treatment in high-risk areas, emphasizing access to quality and standardized services. Following this, each agency will develop its own operational plans and hold further discussions at a later date.
