Enhance teachers' knowledge in teaching about liver fluke disease and cholangiocarcinoma.
On October 9-10, 2025, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Loylom, Director of the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with the Kalasin Provincial Public Health Office, organized a workshop to refresh and develop the teaching capabilities of teachers on liver fluke disease and cholangiocarcinoma in Kalasin Province, for preschool, primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary levels.
The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Thanaphat Na Ranong, Deputy Governor of Kalasin Province, who presided over the opening ceremony. Dr. Taweerat Srikulwong, Provincial Public Health Officer of Kalasin, presented the report on the event.
The training activities included lectures on liver fluke disease and cholangiocarcinoma, and participants were divided into small groups to create teaching materials for each grade level. We were fortunate to receive lecturers from the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, and the Khon Kaen University Demonstration School.
On the day of the event, urine samples were tested for liver fluke infection using the OVATK kit for the teachers attending the training. 184 people registered for the test, and 58 people (31.52%) were found to be infected with liver fluke.
