"The Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute co-organized a medical health fair, providing OV-CCA screening services to residents of Nawang District, Nong Bua Lamphu."

On January 26, 2026, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wacharin Loylom, Director of the Institute, in collaboration with Udon Thani Cancer Hospital, led by Dr. Thiti Ungaree, Director of Udon Thani Cancer Hospital, and Dr. Krittiya Butthongkhamwong, Deputy Director for Medical Affairs, provided liver fluke and cholangiocarcinoma screening services to the public in Nawang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province. This was part of the 2nd Specialized Medical Health Fair under the coordination center of the Thep Ratana Medical Foundation. The event was honored by the presence of Air Chief Marshal Chalit Phukphasuk, Privy Councillor, and his entourage, along with executives from the Department of Medical Services, who visited the mobile medical unit at Nawang Chalerm Phrakiat 80th Anniversary Hospital.
During the event, a total of 384 people received liver fluke screening using the OV-ATK test kit via urine sample. 63 individuals (16.41%) were found to be infected with liver flukes and have already received treatment. Additionally, 302 individuals showed interest in bile duct cancer screening via ultrasound. Five individuals (1.66%) were suspected of having bile duct cancer and have been referred for confirmatory diagnosis and treatment.
In addition, the event included other health services such as: a royal mobile ultrasound unit for liver and bile duct cancer; mobile mammogram for breast cancer; FIT test for colon cancer; and oral cancer screening by Udon Thani Cancer Hospital. Skin disease treatment services were provided by the Institute of Dermatology. Teleconsultation for child development assessments was offered by the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health. Balance assessment and training services were provided by the Somdej Phra Sangkharat Yanasangwon Institute of Geriatric Medicine in collaboration with Somdej Phra Sangkharat Yanasangwon Hospital, Chonburi Province, benefiting over 900 people.
