Training officials and village health volunteers for proactive plans.

On March 9, 2026, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with the Khon Kaen Provincial Administrative Organization, the Khon Kaen Provincial Public Health Office, and the Disease Control and Prevention Office Region 7, Khon Kaen, organized a workshop on the use of tools for screening liver fluke disease. This was under the project to enhance the capacity of public health volunteers for screening at-risk groups for liver fluke disease and cholangiocarcinoma.
This event was honored by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Loylom, Director of the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, Khon Kaen University, who presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a lecture on "Sustainable Integration of Solutions for Liver Fluke Disease and Cholangiocarcinoma" and "Innovations in Liver Fluke Screening."
The training included instruction on using verbal screening tools and recording test results with LINE LIFF, led by programmer Dr. Chaiwat Thawarungruang. It also included instruction on using the OVATK urine-based liver fluke detection kit and practical training on its use. Participants were divided into small groups for practical exercises, led by instructors from the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, Khon Kaen University.
