Clarifying the proactive liver fluke screening plan in Maha Sarakham Province.
On April 23, 2026, the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, Khon Kaen University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Loylom, Director of the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, participated in a meeting to explain the operational plan and management of proactive liver fluke screening services in Maha Sarakham Province at the Maha Sarakham Provincial Public Health Office.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Hatcha Nueythong, Provincial Public Health Officer of Maha Sarakham, and attended by Mr. Prasert Laihakote, Senior Public Health Specialist and Deputy Provincial Public Health Officer, along with district public health officers and representatives from all district hospitals. The meeting focused on planning the implementation of proactive liver fluke screening using the OV ATK diagnostic kit. Ms. Pleinjai Uthainang from M-Lab Medical Technology Clinic, Maha Sarakham Province, also presented her approach to the innovation unit for this initiative.
